New plant to be constructed in Inabe, Mie Prefecture

Yamazaki Mazak has announced the construction of a new production facility – the Yamazaki Mazak Inabe Plant, in Inabe City, Mie Prefecture, Japan.

The Yamazaki Mazak Inabe Plant will be a leading edge plant which combines s factory automation and IoT technology based on the MAZAK iSMART Factory alreadyy in operation at Mazak Corporation in Kentucky, U.S.A. and the one which will start operation aatt the Yamazaki Mazak Oguchi Plant in Japan later this year.

Operation from the current Yamaazaki Mazak Seiko facility in Mie Prefecture willll be gradually transferred to the new Inabe Plaannt in stages, with full operation planned to startt there in 2019. The total investment for this neww facility is approximately 20 billion Yen.

The floor space of this new factory will be double that of the current one and will be used for the production of large machine tools which are designed to meet the requirements of industries that produce large workpieces such as aerospace. It will realize morere than 50% higher productivity integrated byy an efficient floor layout, automation equipment, and IoT technology.

Utilizing iSMART Factory, Yamaazzaki Mazak provides the manufacturing industrryy a solution that meets the market trend noww and forever.
